The Pool is Full!

The plasterers were here bright and early Monday morning. Those men are fast. The plaster is sprayed out on the walls and several of the men are there to spread it smooth......I think they did 2 or 3 layers. That mess was cleaned and after 10 truck loads of water the pool is full.

The pool has to be brushed down 2 times a day for several weeks. This is done because the calcium comes from the plaster and will make the surface rough.

While the pool was being finished up I did a little crafting for a charity "Make It, Bake It, Take It" auction. I belong to the Hagerstown Newcomers, Ltd. and we have an auction or fund raiser each year for a charity we choose. At this auction we made $2500 from just items such as plants, baked goods and crafted items. Way to go ladies!

I made some band boxes one of which I filled with spa items for the auction. This is a very easy and fun way to make beautiful gifts.

Whew I have had a busy week. Friday we headed to the lake house for a bit of work and play. The insurance  company wanted a fence built at one of our retaining walls.

As we were working a pretty Robin was always close by and seemed not to care that we were there and as I was helping with the clean up we found out why.....she had built a nest right under the deck. No babies yet she is just sitting on the eggs.....hope we get back before they fly away.

Today we had breakfast at the Casselmen Inn in Grantsville......a buffet for $7.19 and everything is homemade. It was wonderful. After we finished we decided to just pick a road and take a ride. We headed out into the county side. All along this road there were Amish farms.......it was a beautiful drive. I did snap a few pictures of some of the sights we saw along the way.

All of those pictures are taken right along the road. I would not have had to get out of the truck to take them even though I did. God is so good to give us such wonderfully beautiful things to look at.....I love Garrett County MD.

Now I am back to real life sitting at home thinking I can't wait to head but up to the lake.

Whew Lots Of Work

Whew....what a whirlwind past few weeks we have had since we came back from New York. We started on a few house projects one being the painting my bedroom and bathroom. The bathroom is complete and the bedroom is on the list for next week.

I really really love this color.....the bedroom will be the same. Now I am on a search for curtains. I am beginning to think that what I want (or what I think I want) does not exist. I think I am going to have to make them.

With all the rain we have had the yard is so beautiful but with all that rain comes YARD WORK. Lots of mowing and weed pulling. I decided that I no longer like how my front garden looks so I have been taking out, moving and putting new things in.....now there are lots of holes that need filling but I have a plan and I know it will take me all summer. There will be pictures when that is all done.

The biggest project that we undertook this year is redoing our pool. It has had issues from the beginning. Living at the bottom of the mountain like we do water runs under the ground which cause liner problems and hot tub problems. SO we decided on a complete redo. Saturday the finishing plaster will go on the walls and the water will go in......weather permitting.
