Deep Creek Get Away

 Weeks spent at the lake are the BEST especially when spent with family. Family came and went all week.   Tim's brother and wife Kelly came up the first part of the week with there daughter Stephanie and her boyfriend Adam. We spent the time hiking and on the water.

Hiking around the park at Swallow Falls is always a great time we try to go every time we are at Deep Creek.......I see something different each time we go. This year with the winter several of the OLD HUGE trees are down. So sad. A few more trees are now across the hiking path which makes it a little more exciting to hike and right now with all the rain we have had there is lots more water flowing then last year. Makes for a beautiful hike.

NOW for the water sports. There was boating and Jet skiing. Tubing and kneeboarding and NO sunburns. In other words a good time was had by ALL. The end of the week Phoebe, her boyfriend Adam and Caleb came to join us.

The saddest thing is when you have to pack up and come home. I HATE that day......oh well we'll be back again soon.

Round Robin

Today I completed my first block for the very first Round Robin that I have done. There are 12 lovely ladies participating in this Round Robin. We are doing each block to as a calendar month. The first block that is due is a January block and this is my January block. 

This will be my block that I have made for my quilt and I will not see it again till NEXT July because each of the 12 ladies will be making a block for this quilt. Our next block will be February and I have great ideas for that too. So I am saying good-bye to my January block for an entire year......have fun in your travels and hope you gain beautiful friends along the way.

Summer Has Begun

Summer has begun and I am ready to relax. The big Hudlow fireworks shindig is over and now it is lake house time. This past weekend we had our annual July 4th Pig Roast with friends and family.

What a great evening we all had. Sunday after the BIG clean up we headed to the lake house. The Twiggs joined us for the some fun although we had boat issues. Seems once we got it there it didn't want to go. After having it winterized things can go wrong even though Tim did take it out on the Potomac for a run and had no issues when we put it in at Deep Creek it didn't want to run correctly so NO boating this weekend : (.     Very disappointing for us.....we wanted to leave it there for the summer but instead it had to come back home and straight to the shop.

Matthew and Cort had a great time without the boat. There was fishing and swimming off the dock. Oh and of course X Box. And that was just Monday. We fixed burgers and dogs and waiting around till dark and the spectacular "Fire on the Mountain" fireworks show.

We sat in our back yard and literly they were OVER our heads. What a great show we had. The evening was ended with s'mores and a round of Apples to Apples which I was just a spectator for.

Today was another wonderful day. We started with a hardy breakfast at one of our favorite Deep Creek area restaurants........Annie's. After Annie's we headed to walk off the hardy breakfast at Swallow Falls. Every time I do this walk I am in awe of what God has given us! There are so many beautiful things He has given us and this is just a little snippet of them.
