Today the room is complete. I am so pleased with all that has happened in there......what a transformation!
Finally got Tim to get my curtain rod up.
With his Harley shirt on he MATCHES....let's play where's Tim.
TA DA.......it's done!
As you walk in the door.
My sewing tools.
One reference library. The beautiful sewing box was my Aunt June's. I have emptied it and now it is ready for me to use when I do handwork.
More books along with all my antique buttons, wooden spool threads and embroidery floss.
The applique piece on the wall is my very first AND is my house.
I always have help......whether I need it or not.
Fabric waiting to be used.
LOVE my curtain.
My cutting station.
Again more help. The litter box will be finding a new home soon.
There is only one more thing I want that is not done yet. I want a peg board to hang all my tools on. Not sure where I want to put it yet.....will use my room a bit to see where it would work best for me. Because as we all know this may not be the permanent placement till I am truly working in there.
Now the fun will begin. The first project will be a weighted pin cushion and snip-it bag for all my sewing away from home. I also plan is to finish a few quilts that I already have started. There will be pictures of all as I go and maybe even tutorials and how to's. This is going to be fun!
As Always, Lori

Anniversary/Valentine Weekend Get Away
As many of you know today is my Anniversary. 23 years ago today we were married. Well 23 1/2 years ago.....February 13th is the date of our church wedding we eloped on August 7th. So this means I have an anniversary every 6 month. How's that for planning girls?
We decided to go to our Deep Creek Lake house for the weekend.
Friday was a cold beautiful day.
When we got up on Saturday morning it was SNOWING.
Snowed all day long. The lake is just past the pine trees.....completely frozen over.
Looking out the back of our house at Wisp.
My brother n law and sister n law and a few friends came up on Saturday. The guys spent the day snowmobiling and Kelly and I made beautiful Valentine cookies.
Could anyone ask for a better Anniversary/Valentine weekend. Spending the weekend with my wonderful husband and friends. No I don't think it could have gotten much better. Needless to say my sewing room had been put on hold. It WILL be finished this week......and I will be sewing in it by the weekend. Can't wait!
Till Next Time, Lori

Raffle Quilt Day
On an icy yucky day my quilt guild friends braved the weather to work on our raffle quilt. Each year our guild makes a quilt to be raffled off for a different charity. In the past we have given to the Heart Association and Breast cancer. The quilts are displayed through out the year at different venues including every 2 years at our Quilt Show. Believe it or not this quilt is being made for 2013......BUT if you would like to purchase a ticket for this years quilt give me a call or e mail me and I can get you tickets. I'll see if I can't get it posted on here somewhere so you can see the 2011 quilt. The next show is Spring 2012.
We worked from 9 till 4.....there was cutting, piecing and pressing......designing and putting together. We made a great headway but will have another day to finish this BEAUTIFUL quilt.

Let The Painting Begin!
The junk has been moved out and is in my office.
Boy do I have my work cut out for me organizing and finding a place for everything.
Furniture moved to the middle.
Fabric shelves moved to the middle.
Careful not to get paint on any fabric.
The cut in is complete.
Time to ROLL.
I did 2 walls.....Tim did the other 2.
One coat finished and drying.
I just LOVE this HAPPY room.
Have showered and am resting my aching back. Second coat tomorrow.
